The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a scheme of the Australian Government that funds costs associated with disability. The scheme was legislated in 2013 and went into full operation in 2020.

The scheme provides funding for Australians under the age of 65 with disability and enable them (with the help of providers and specialist) choose and determine their own future. The NDIS funding provides people with disability a range of options that may suit their needs and allow them to live an independent and comfortable live. The benefit of the scheme is to improve the quality life of a person with disability and also provide support and assistance to family members.
