Supported Independence Living (SIL) & Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
Supported Independence Living (SIL)
Supported Independence Living (SIL) is an accommodation New Life Support Services (NLSS) offer as part of the services . You can share a house with other people with disability or live entirely in a rented house by yourself. Whichever you choose, we provide supervision and assistance in the house to support your everyday living.

We assist you in making a preferred choice of where to live, what type of people you want to live with and what kind of services you want us to offer.

The daily tasks we offer in the SIL homes include the following:

  • Domestic cleaning and laundry
  • Cooking and feeding based on nutritional advice
  • Personal care (including showering and dressing)
  • Community participation program involvement
  • Administering medication
  • Providing transportation to appointments and programs
  • 24/7 support services provided where need be
Short Term Accommodation (STA)
New Life Support Services provide Short Term Accommodation under the conditions of what used to be known as respite. STA is also for people who need a place to recover from surgery or other non-physical rehabilitation where family members are not available to offer immediate care.

STA services we offer include all the services provided under SIL referenced above. We have qualified staff that will make our long term and short-term residents feel at home and improve their ability to do tasks on their own.

New Life Support Services can direct you to one of the numerous NDIS coordinators we work with to assist and explain in details how to get funding for STA or SIL.
